Late Sunday night local Japanese time, Through Seven Seas became the 34th Japanese horse to challenge the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Through Seven Seas finished fourth against some of the world's highest-rated horses, beaten just three lengths. Ace Impact was the hugely impressive winner, maintaining his unbeaten record. Westover finished in second and Onesto in third.

In the JRA betting pool, Through Seven Seas was the fifth favourite and Ace Impact was sent to post as the hot favourite. Christophe Lemaire deputized aboard Through Seven Seas as she made eye catching progress in the final three furlongs. In a fortunate turn of events, favourable ground conditions in Longchamp are believed to have aided the performance of the daughter of Dream Journey.

Through Seven Seas won her first graded stakes in Nakayama Himba Stakes in 2021 and showed huge jump in form in this year's G1 Takarazuka Kinen. She finished second, a neck behind Equinox.

Trainer Tomohito Ozeki commented "I wish they could position themselves a bit further forward. In the home stretch, she showed us her amazing speed and sharpness. Her potential is limitless."
