This weekend features racing at Niigata, Chukyo, and Sapporo Racecourses, with two graded stakes races scheduled.
On Sunday, August 18th, the G2 Sapporo Kinen will be held at Sapporo Racecourse. Notable entries include Shahryar, who comes into this race after finishing second in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic, Prognosis, last year's dominant winner, and Dura Erede, who is racing on just one week's rest.
On the same day at Chukyo Racecourse, the G3 CBC Sho is on the card. Entries include three-year-old filly Puro Magic, who is coming off back-to-back graded stakes victories, Aguri, last year's G3 Hankyu Hai winner, and Suzu Khalom, who finished third in the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup.
On the NAR regional racing, the JPN3 Cluster Cup, originally scheduled for Monday, August 12th, at Morioka Racecourse, has been postponed to Wednesday, August 14th, due to a typhoon. Last year's winner, Don Frankie, who recently finished second in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen, is among the entrants.
